IRC Terms of service – Rules

Post by lgillis »

These are the terms and conditions for the IRC network that you agree to when you log on. No changes have been made to the text, only the forced page breaks have been removed to make it easier to read.

Irc2P Terms of service

author: smeghead

By using Irc2P, you are bound by the following Terms of Service. Violators of these terms may be permanently banned from the Irc2P network.

Please respect the server owners’ right to manage their network. Unless you are an Irc2P server owner, you have no inherent right to be on Irc2P; you are a guest of the server owners.

If you or your channel are banned from Irc2P, please respect this and find another IRC network. Flooding on Irc2P is prohibited. Do not spam other Irc2P guests via private message. Do not harass other Irc2P guests. If a guest asks you to refrain from private messaging them, please respect their wish; failure to do so constitutes harassment and may result in your permanent banning from Irc2P. Registration of more than 5 channels or 5 nicks by a single guest is an abuse of network services unless you have explicit permission from the server owners. Violation may result in all your nicks or channels being permanently banned from Irc2P.

Please do not abuse other guest’s channels. Unless you are the owner of a particular channel, you have no inherent right to be in it; you are a guest of the channel owner and are thus subject to the rules and whims of that owner, even if you are an op in that channel.

If you are kicked or banned from a particular channel, please respect this and find another channel or create your own. Circumvention of channel bans is an abuse of network services and may result in you being banned from the Irc2P network altogether. Do not spam a channel unless that channel’s owner, the owner’s duly delegated ops, or the channel’s rules explicitly permit it beforehand. Do not run automated bots or scripts in a channel unless that channel’s owner, the owner’s duly delegated ops, or the channel’s rules explicitly permit it beforehand.

A channel owner has final say in disputes brought by that channel’s ops or guests regarding intra-channel matters. Server owners will not intervene in such disputes unless the channel owner has violated these Terms of Service.

Irc2P server owners have final say in all extra-channel matters.

Please do not bother the developers of I2P or Tor regarding Irc2P matters; they are not affiliated with the Irc2P network and have no control over it.

Irc2P server owners are not responsible for the speech or conduct of Irc2P guests. Beware that, due to the nature of anonymous networks, you may encounter speech or conduct on Irc2P that you find objectionable. Use Irc2P at your own risk.

Definitions:

spam —spamming includes—but is not limited to—soliciting users to visit another channel/network/site, advertising, and automated announcements.

flooding— repeating any of the following actions in rapid succession: posting lines into chat or private message; joining and parting a channel; unnecessary nick changes.

End of RULES command.
